Hi all,

New to the AFF forums but have appreciated all the help so far.

I am based in ADL and need to go to BNE in late April ~25th to return early May ~2nd. I am looking for some suggestions as I am hoping to get to Gold FF by the end of the year.

So essentially I am looking for recommendations for maxing my SC for this trip while keeping price reasonable. I have Award points if it turns out that this is an efficient way of using them (however trip is tax deductible for me so that is a factor too). The standard trip via Mel or Syd would net me 50SC each way on standard economy. Is this a reasonable way to go?

I look forward to your input and knowledge.

Thanks.

Maximum SCs would mean a routing via PER - DRw etc, it all comes down to a balance between time and cost, routing via SYD or MEL makes sense and adds little to the time taken and also little extra cost, you should also look closely at flexi fares, its not unusual to see them not far off rededeals in cost yet offer 2x the SCs.

It really depends on how much you can pay. There is a significant increase in fare for routing via the east coast, CBR is also an option BTW. Each of the routes will get you 25 SC each way on a red-e-deal but the additional cost probably makes a direct flexi fare (30SC) more attractive.

If you want outright SC earn and can't afford the cash cost then a JASA might be worth considering. The points probably can't be deducted but the cash component can be.
