Account with CX, flying QF metal but AA flight number

I need a bit of help working out whether I will accrue miles on the following itinery:

I am thinking of flying on QF and Air Canada metal from syd to toronto but with booking under AA flight numbers. My FF account is with CX. I want to use the AA flight numbers as it seems like I will get more miles this way. Will this work? The Asiamiles site is vague on this

Thanks, I read these but couldn't quite decide what they meant regarding codeshares. Thanks for helping clear it up. It looks like the AA codeshare will be better earning option,
