Account with CX, flying QF metal but AA flight number

I need a bit of help working out whether I will accrue miles on the following itinery:

I am thinking of flying on QF and Air Canada metal from syd to toronto but with booking under AA flight numbers. My FF account is with CX. I want to use the AA flight numbers as it seems like I will get more miles this way. Will this work? The Asiamiles site is vague on this

Anything can be done
The trick is to look at what credits best based on the booking class.

Asia Miles - Earn Miles - Airlines - American Airlines®
Indicated to me provided its one of the booking classes mentioned 100% of miles traveled will credit.

Thanks, I read these but couldn't quite decide what they meant regarding codeshares. Thanks for helping clear it up. It looks like the AA codeshare will be better earning option,
