Accidentally credited to SQ

I accidentally credited a Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore instead of VA. Landed this morning. Is it possible to change it after the flight? Really needed those SCs...

I doubt it.... Singapore are pretty quick to post their points. You will have to ring Singapore customer service and see what they can do. You never know, I wouldn't hesitate as the quicker you ring them the more chance is they can fix it.

Good point, in fact my wife and I are seriously thinking of only using our SQ Kris Miles for all future flying including domestic with VA. The only thing that keeps us with VA at the moment is Family pooling. I'm still doing my homework on that....

When Velocity credited everyone with the 10 sc a few months ago by the time I knew about it I was unable to change family pooling so received 20 sc I did not need . Ended up calling a few weeks ago and got them reversed but got the impression I got was if it was a flight it would be a different story.

I accidentally put my Velocity number onto a series of Qatar flights to Europe instead of my Qantas number a few years back. Even though I couldn’t even earn Velocity points on Qatar, no one wanted a bar of it, Virgin especially. The message was that it was my mistake and that it was too hard to fix it. At least with SQ, you can transfer to points to Velocity. That said, if you can be bothered, send them an email and ask. The worst that could happen is that they say no.

I wanted them to remove my Velocity number from the boarding pass for my Qatar legs. They said only Qatar could do that. Virgin checked me in on all three codeshare flights. I at least earned Velocity points for the sectors operated by Virgin.

Did you submit a retro claim with QF if your QR flights were eligible for earn?

Yes, but they said it was ineligible because I had a FF number on my boarding pass at the time, even if it was invalid. I didn’t pursue it further. The points would have been nice, but I don’t lose sleep over them.

I don’t think it’s publicised, but yes, if you’re travelling from Hobart they sometimes coordinate. I was able to check my bags through to Moscow from Hobart, which was good. I was going to switch numbers in Melbourne with the Qatar crew before boarding the Qatar flight, but it was late and I forgot. I hoped the inability to earn Velocity points on Qatar would have allowed me to claim Qantas points retrospectively, but alas. The Virgin staff were nice when I asked them about it later, but there was nothing they could do (I think my wording about Virgin in a previous post was a bit misleading). I get the feeling people put the wrong numbers on boarding passes quite frequently and it’s easier for airlines just to say no. But you never know until you try.

Be very, very, very, very careful about putting your SQ KF # onto a purely Aust VAd booking.
SQ will decline it, has happened to me once.
If I were you, I would keep the 2 separate.
If you need to move points, do it in that block of 5000, and lose about 45% of it, and transfer that way.
Only put your SQ KF # onto a real true code share, SQ & VA booking.
Don't just put your SQ KF # onto a VAd booking, thinking your KF account will rise by that little bit.
I had the idea as is yours, and thought, hmm, how about getting my SQ KF # balance, up a bit, even by a few hundred points, so made a VAd booking, thoughtfully put in my SQ KF #, and then did the flight, guess what, yep!
Points didn't appear in my SQ KF account, did a retro claim 4 weeks after, with the VAd BP still hot in my hands, expecting SQ to do their magic, a bit fat NO came back as a reply to the claim.
Also, KF SC/pps cannot be transferred to VA.
You can transfer your KF points to VFF at a discount, but as mentioned on here, SC/pps, that one is no.
If the flight you were planning, is a true code share, then you can put VAd points to SQ KF.
Read somewhere that the SQ and VFF system, is more of a code share revenue share, than a true FF points partnership, like *A/OW.
