Okay found this link Check to See If You Were Targeted for Free AAdvantage Status

Saying AA is targeting some customers with free gold or plat for 3 months. The offer apparently went out via email but you can also check manually below.

Click on this link (Link also available in the article): Get free AAdvantage Platinum status − AAdvantage program − American Airlines

Log in and try these codes.
For Gold: HVSGU
For Platinum: HVPRG

I also read in the comments that the code: HVSMT is also working for reduced requirements to achieve status. These included:
Elite status level EQMs needed EQDs needed
Gold 7,000 $1,000
Platinum 12,500 $2,000
Platinum Pro 20,000 $3,000
Executive Platinum 35,000 $4,000.

I tried to do it only to realise that apparently i don't have an account with AA (even though i swear i signed up about a year and a half ago!!)

Hopefully this works for some of you.
Enjoy :)

Mrs WF received the offer. During our USA trip in May/Jun 2017 she earned almost 9K EQM so that may have created the target. Don't think I can (or would want to) convince her to fly that much before the end of the year. PER-ASP is almost too much.

Just wandering
Fred

PS Her TransPAC flights were from my award miles - eastbound J westbound W ;)
