Are AA seats (First Class) any better when flying from mainland to HNL, or is it just the same standard as normal?

The same aircraft fly the HNL routes as fly other USA domestic routes, and they don't change the seats for the HNL sectors.

So it depends on the aircraft used, which are most regularly either 757 or 767-300. So the 767-300 is going to be the nicest F seats. These are the same aircraft (and seats) that also operate international routes where the forward seats are sold as J class.

What an exciting question from you!...

Interstingly enough, AA is embarking on a 767-300 lie flat in domestic premium class retro-fit! http://youtube.com/watch?v=AUIVD8hZZBM & http://www.howwillyourtimefly.com/ So…many USA OW connections via HNL with JQ *Class & AA P class offer an affordable premium product, when compared to QF via LA! (Pity the SYD curfew means JQ service must be the overnight one!)

The aadvantage (excuse the pun) of an HNL AA connection, is that you receive an international level of service on the 767 services, including huge bloody duvet, Chandon (instead of domestic Brut sparkling) and a seat pitch to die for!
