Hi All.

My wife and I are travelling on different dates to Italy(from Perth Aus) next year (coming back together with SQ using KF points).
Can anyone offer advice on how to achieve this please:

1 Business class in Early June 2018 PER to FCO (ROME) on AA (purchased)miles
1 Business class in Early July 2018 PER to MXP (Milan).

It looks to me like QANTAS fly direct to London (QF9) and then partner with BA to Italy.
Can I purchase 150,000 (plus the bonus 100,000) to cover this and if so, what is the cost in AA miles(is it counted as one hop Aus-Europe)?

Also, when should I be picking up the phone for the first AA (QF) booking (say June 28 2018).

Many many thanks in anticipation.

AA lets you book 330 days out, but by that time most J seats will have been snaffled by QF members who can book 365 or so days out.

It should be treated as one hope under AA rules.

I'd also look at other options, eg going via KUL or HKG for example on MH/CX

Thanks moa999. Would MH and CX be 330 days also?

You could try a dummy booking. On May 13 there is J availability from PER-SIN-LHR-FCO on QF/BA. The cost is 85,000 miles and $US253.90. There may be other possibilities using the multi-city tool but you will have to call AAdvantage to book the award at the correct miles cost.
