Looking at internal USA flights at the moment and keep seeing "web only" or Economy Super Savers on AA and Southwest and the difference in the fair from these to economy is 200-300 USD apart from teh fare difference which I can see online (boarding priority, non refundable etc etc) difference is there any other gotcha's??
For 200 or 300 I don't mind boarding last however if they can sell your seat and put on later flights and the like then I don't want to go down that path. I have travelled a couple of times to the USA and can't believe some of what I have seen. Sat on a LAX to LAS flight once have just board everyone seated then ove the PA they were offering hundreds of USD for people to give up there seat for a later flight, they kept upping the antie until they had the required number of seats. It was a Friday night and the high rollers wanted a seat.....what a circus.
I suppose what I am trying to find out is if you buy one of these seats that providing you checkin on or before time that you have a confirmed seat as opposed to turn up only to find they have over sold the flight and you the first one of the flying list.
Nice to hear of any people having opted for these cheaper seats.
