AA codeshares on domestic QF

I have an AA credit to use up through expedia and I thought I might be able to use it for a MEL/ADL return, but when I put those cities and my dates into the AA website to find flights it just comes back with an error.

How can I find out which domestic QF flights AA codeshare on? Or do they not anymore?

AA code shares on QF domestic segments can only be booked as part of an AA international itinerary. They cannot be booked as stand-alone segments.

Well AA does "sell" QF domestic award seats. Try on the USA AA web site and select "All airlines". The prices for QF domestic may not be attractive since none of the lower fare classes will be available.

I know that they offer award seats on QF but I specifically wanted to pay for a seat this time since I have a credit to use up.

In the past I have definitely bought (non-award) QF domestic flights through the AA website so it used to be possible.

Same deal. You can only book QF codes on AA flights as part of a QF international itinerary.

OK I just checked advanced search on the AA (USA) website..... Nothing showed up.
If you have an AMEX card there is a workaround. I used this in India when the local websites were being "picky" about how (or where) an (discount) airline client paid for the reservation. Book on the AMEX travel website and be prepared for a lengthy authorization process. It may be that I (still) have a US AMEX that it billed in USD...

Not that it helps, but you used to be able to book QF domestic flights using the AA website, although it required you to put UK as your resident country in order for the credit card to go through.

That was prior to AA recommencing it’s own flights to Sydney so it didn’t have an Australian website.

You could often get much cheaper fares doing it this way.
