A380 Seat 38k/36K Qantas PE/Economy Window?

Hmm - that wouldn't actually be a bad seat if you could guarantee it.

We managed to pre-select 38 J&K back in April when we booked the flights. I was suprised as we are only QF Gold...and I was expecting this to be an Elite only seating zone.
Mr Enigma01au will be Platinum by the time we board the flight....so hopefully no-one will be able to snaffle it off us between now and then.

I'd grab 34A; the centre seats have a greatly reduced pitch (38" compared to 42")!

That's a different of 11" over economy's 31" compared to only 7".

Have to agree here (34 A SYD-LAX in April). With the strategic use of a few pillows you can make yourself a sloped bed or an ottoman type leg rest.

I keep checking our reservation too for the same reasons, which is July next year. I got an email yesterday saying the flight had changed and that if we had pre selected our seats, they may have changed too! So dashing to the bookings, all that happened is that the flight is arriving 10 minutes later. Nothing else had changed. Why do they bother with that? 10 minutes can be made up on a 24 hour flight (or I guess, 7 hours from Singapore)

There is a lot of leg room there in Row 38!

Just looking to get confirmation - does 36K DEFINITELY have an open window next to it - or is it just a blank wall? on both - OQD/OQE ?

Exterior images I have seen show fake windows painted on.

Re: Upper Deck A380 Economy Window views

I haven't travelled on the new config A380 but I have been on the old config A380 sitting at the PE exit row on the starboard side window seat. The window seat at that location does have a window in the old config.

Having said that there are now two rows of Y seating to one row of PE. I can't remember if there was another window behind me when sitting there in PE. So there is a window but I don't know exactly how your two rows of Y seating line up to that window.

I have flown on the upper deck, but can't give you a definite answer. From memory none of the seats looks like they had anything out of the ordinary window wise

Yes it definitely has a window. The row forward(35K) doesnt really have a window...as you have to crane back to look through the window behind, or lean forward to look through the window in the door, but that has one of those concave surfaces distorting the view in half the window.

Oh...and that was OQE...but even if OQB isnt yet the new format, it too has the window....I suspect they are all they same in that regard.

I hope none of the seats on A380's have an open window!

I believe one of Qantas's new enhancements was the guarantee that all the A380 windows would have a view of the outside!
