A380 Row 15 (A/B)

Have a flight coming up to the US soon booked on a Qantas A380 in J. I have selected seat 16A, which on the Qantas seat selection page says is an extra leg room seat.

Must admit never heard of that before on the A380 and no google search brings up row 16 as being extra leg room. So curious if there is anything different about this row that would make it come up as extra leg room.

Firstly a correction it is row 15! Not sure why I said 16.

But as you can see it shows 15B as extra leg room, and 15A showed that before I selected it too.

My wife and I flew QF2 LHR-SIN in 15A and B earlier this year. I do not recall it showing as "extra leg room" when I booked it but I may be wrong.
Seat was OK. Nice having nobody in front I guess. It's fairly spacious in there.

I am hoping by choosing that seat that any extra room makes it easier to get passed the person in 15B.

I would select 13A and sit in the front section. Stepping over the person in the B seat is no different in any row. And don't worry there is a closet behind 13A before the toilet.

That’s the seat I have on the way back.

Was really just curious to see why these seats are considered extra leg room.

Those seats also tend to be allocated for families as from my memory they are bassinet.
I prefer 16 in the middle as it has a bit more space to place shoes and so on, but personal preference.

Interestingly the Qantas seat map doesn’t show 15A/B as being a bassinet position rather only 16E/F and 15J/K.
