Hi guys,
Im wanting to go from Sydney to NYC (JFK) and Stopping over at IST.

Im wanting to maximise my F Class cabin time and though of the following:

TG SYD-BKK
TG BKK-ICU
OZ ICU-JFK (destination) 4 nights
TK JFK-IST (stop over) 9 nights
TK IST-BKK
TG BKK-SYD

However, im showing almost no first class availability at any time.. can anyone suggest another route or airlines with a great F class?

Have you asked your travel agent?

I find that my travel agent has great suggestions where there is an availability problem. She also knows I don't mind taking the long way!

If you dont mind the long way, how about EK?

SYD-DXB-IST-DXB-JFK-DXB-SYD?

Not *A though, but seriously good F cabin.

SQ must have some cover of part of the trip. Do TK do SIN-IST-JFK?

I may have misunderstood you want to go to JFK first, so how about
SYD-DXB-JFK-DXB-IST-DXB-SYD.

Or if Buy a return to SYD-IST on EK, with IST-JFK-IST seperately ticketed on TK or other.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Is the availability issue because you are looking for FF award availability? Or is this planned to be a paid ATW fare?

Apologies!!! *A rewards flights in First

Oh, ignore my post then!

Consider a number of mixed return awards too, but you'll often have to call if you're having online availability issues.

A few other things may help:
Which carrier is the "parent" program?
Rough timing/dates? (next week, next month, whenever?)

By ICU, do you mean ICN ?

Apologies! Yes I need a coffee :( its ICN and parent program is US Airways

I dont believe SQ have much leaveing AU... most is now A380 which isnt capable.

What about trying for ex-BNE or MEL? IIRC SQ do a 777 to SIN daily ex-BNE.

There is now a *A route planner so you could have a play with alternate routings on that?

Interactive Map - Star Alliance

Doesnt help with availability, but gives you alternate routes to look up however.

Hrmm well i guess I can open it up.

I cant see availability in First class..

I want to go from SYD to both JFK (4 Days) and IST for (9 days) all in First class on *A Points..

Any time from Mid Feb

What do you make of the below?? will UA allow this routing? (JFK and IST are the destination and stopover) any other suggestions?

I would go SYD -SIN in J then off to LAX in 747 FIRST on SQ.It stops in Narita.
Check that for availability as I have seen these even on SAVER.

Just a suggestion,

SQ: AU - SIN - FRA - JFK
TK: JFK - IST - BKK
TG: BKK - AU

Think you can maximize your flight time by avoiding any trans-pacific flight segments to/from the US.

Well danielc you have got me thinking about the "other way"!
Good idea.

You can't do the above, as with US miles it's a RTW trip (Air Canada miles could be different).

If you can drop IST, then it's a walk in the park. There's availability almost every day from SYD-BKK (346 is ordinary but ok), and likewise onto FRA on TG/ LF 744 (but TG is better that route). Then onto JFK with the LH 333 (avoid 744) or EWR on the 343.

That simple trip let's you experience the BKK and FRA F lounges. Now IST has an excellent ground experience but it's tough to get freebies into or outof there; be prepared to pay the bucks.

Thus what I'm suggesting is that it's really easy to "maximise cabin time" travelling via FRA and it's easy provided you skip IST.

Congrats, sounds great.
