A day in Dubai

I'm heading the Germany for Christmas, but due to some things my girlfriend (who is German) needs to do I can arrive there until the 18th of December, so I've decided to fly from Perth to Dubai on the 16th and spend the 17th in Dubai prior to going to Hamburg on the 18th.

I'd like to go for a helicopter flight around Dubai maybe for sunset on the 16th and then go for a trip out into the desert or a city tour or something on the 17th (a bicycle tour would be cool, but I can't seem to find anything on Google that suggests an operator exists). Can anyone recommend some operators, or suggest some things I should do while I'm in Dubai?

Do what I did go to the Dubai mall and fly the A380 simulator cost was a mere AUD$100.

We also did an excellent 4 hour city tour includes a dow taxi ride, visit to the real gold souk, saw most landmarks plus the amazing museum and how they lived hundreds of years ago. Booked via Viator.

Forget a bike tour its about 45/50C and extremely humid out there, you'll come back as a skeleton
