Hi guys,

Just a quick question, I usually travel domestically around Australia once a month and I pretty much always stay at a hotel where I can earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points (3 points per $1 spent). I also have an Accor A-Club/Le-Club membership but I rarely provide this when staying at hotels, much prefer the QFF points...

However, got me thinking, should I be producing my Le-Club card for the accommodation in order for me to proceed up the loyalty/status levels, then wait till points for hotels are credited and then transfer to my QFF? Will I retain my loyalty level (Silver/Gold etc) even if I transfer the points?

Also what is the exchange rate for accor points to FF points? I have looked around and keep getting conflicting answers... I have tried searching for this info so apologies if its been asked before!

Thanks

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

You need at 4000 leClub Accor points - they transfer at 1:1.

Le Club Earning is at 2 per € - (with 3 for Silver Status, 3½ got Gold and 4 for Platinum).

Unless you have platinum status, direct airline mile earn would be the way to go - only caveat is actually getting a direct credit from an aline can be a problem.

Assuming you want to use points for accommodation or other hotel expenses, aren't you better off accumulating the LeClub points rather than transferring them? A $250 Accor voucher from QFF costs 33,750 points which at 1:1 transfer would equate to 33,750 LeClub points. But 33,750 LeClub points will give you 16 LeClub vouchers at $60 each, i.e. worth almost 4x more. So it seems to me the points are worth 4x more in the LeClub programme as when transferred to QFF (of course only relevant if you want to use for accommodation)?

krazy1: I've actually written up a pretty handy guide about 18 months ago at the Accor wiki at Milepoint to comprehensibly answer this question.

To paraphrase, you need to consolidate Base points + Bonuses + Tier bonuses from Accor, and compare that to what you'd get on direct earn to make an apples for apples comparison.

Conversion rates can also be found in this article on the same Accor wiki.
