I had a French teacher who was also a County cricket player. He could turn round from facing the blackboard and instantly throw the boardrubber so it just skimmed your ear, throwing up chalk

Sounds a bit like the Mr.Sykes I had at Chatswood Primary in 1957,58.

I guess that might be possible. He would have been young then, working it back possibly 38 in 1957. Christian name Geoff. i think he lived in Hornsby.
