Just want to report back on our trip to Muscat, Oman in September. We had a great time and enjoyed the stunning sceneries of Oman. We stayed 2 nights at the Shangri-La (Al Husn) to chill out and enjoyed the beach / ocean / pools first, then moved to the cheaper Grand Hyatt for 3 nights closer to the airport for an early departure back to London. We found a tour guide / driver on tripadvisor recommended by an Australian lady and used him for the entire trip. He did all the transfers and tours for us - we went on 2 full days tours outside Muscat. Omani visa on arrival in Muscat was expensive - 20 OMR each (they no longer give out the cheap 5 OMR for 10 days or less stay).

It's great Oman isn't it ? I would defiantly go back and go a bit more outside of Muscat. Can't believe it's 20 OMR for a visa now , must of changed recently.
Glad you enjoyed Oman, it's defiantly a hidden gem that not many think of going
