747's making a comeback.

It says desert storage, but surely they don’t mean that plane graveyard in the middle of no where? I thought planes sent there were scrapped.

some are scrapped, but many are stored in case they are required later. Because it is dry, corrosion is almost non existant.

Same place, they are sent to graveyards because its ideal for storage and little corrosion so they can either be flown again or parted out, quite a lot of the recent B747 production went straight to the desert. QF recently pulled three 747's out of Victorville, and the 787 has even been photographed there, so its not a one way trip!
