Eventually I've found a flight with availability on the dates that suit me where I can use up my Mabuhay miles.
I was surprised when the operator asked my for $35.90 to cover the charges. Surprised because internal Pilipina flights aren't that much more anyway.
Turns out that the charges was made of $5.90 airport tax + $30 credit card surcharge.
PR in Australia offer an option for the deposit to be made at a Westpac bank and avoid the surcharge. Cannot be done by EFT
Also offer a Westpac Payway option. The document was not specific if that method still attracting the $30 surcharge.
PR really are a frustrating company to deal with. This post comes after spending time trying to route fares via their website, numerous and regular time outs of results and then waiting on hold for what seems like ages.
It's more fun in the Philippines. I really need to just enjoy the diversity.
