Scrolling through the Flight Radar 24 iPhone app I notice what a nice little formation the 4 x A380s make when they are about 3 hours out of LAX.

QF93 & QF11 are heading towards LAX and appear to have an opportunity flash the lights as they pass QF94 & QF12 winging there way to Australia.
While it may look interesting on the app, my back of the envelope calculations have them spread across about 3,000 miles in this screenshot plus vertical separation. Maybe close enough for a VHF call as incoming pass outgoing.
What do you think?
