Hi Experts - Looking for some tips/suggestions to fly to Paris using my velocity points in the month of Jul 2020. Are there any good options for me to redeem the points , no preferred class as long as I am able to book atleast one way using points. Per my research , 200K points are not sufficient enough but willing to make some changes or buy points if it's worth.

It will be 3 of us ( 2 adults and 1 child 4 yrs old ) and we have to fly out of Melbourne.

Appreciate your time.

Not that I have been to France, but can I ask, first go.
Where would you want to transit, SIN Singapore or AUH Abu Dhabi.
Some people love the SQ Singapore Airlines type of service, where they would ply you with grog or water or other drinks, until/unless you tell them you have had enough to drink on the flight.
SQ Singapore Airlines has more flights from MEL to SIN, EY Etihad only has 2 flights a day to AUH Abu Dhabi.

As such we would prefer Singapore airlines however if we can get Etihad with points we are okay. Just gauging my options to minimize the currency component.

Check how many KrisFlyer miles you would need, 200k Velocity points converts to 129k KrisFlyer miles, compare that to booking through VA.

Problem is that I am not able find availability of VA reward tickets. However looking at KrisFlyer booking redemption , each PE ticket is going to cost me 91500 miles , so looks like I don't have enough miles for premier economy on singapore airlines.

There is only one option presented for 10th July which is 112500 + 96$ taxes per pax.

Buy 3 seats on SQ on window side.
200000 VFF is as mentioned not really that much, someone in your flying group will probably have to pay $ for a seat.
Might as well 3 seats and collect points for an award next international trip.
Or pay Y (paying cash for revenue seats) Au to SIN, then award J class from SIN to CDG, if less points needed for SIN - Europe sector for 3 pax.
Jul is our school hols in Au too.
