Suggestions, should I go for it or is it to risky?
I will be arriving from a JL 7:15am arrival trying to catch a QF 9:05am flight. We will have to check baggage/bag drop.
Thanks for any input.

Eminently doable, as long as the incoming flight isn't late of course.

Rodger that, what the heck I'll go for it, on time performance JL 771 93% Avg Delay 12 min, I like those odds.

It is very doable, and at that time of morning there should be plenty of back-ups for your 9:05 flight (depending on where it goes to, of course).

We are flying to Brisbane trying to catch the only QF A330 service and hope snag a refurb seat in J

If on same ticket JL should tag bag to BNE however you'll still need to collect it in SYD to clear customs then drop it off at the domestic transfer desk prior to catching the QF shuttle bus from T1 (intl) to T3 (domestic). If separate tickets JL and QF are both in the One World alliance so give JL your QF flight details and ask them to tag the bag through to BNE.

If you're caught up in customs QF will transfer you onto a later flight. Don't muck around purchasing duty free on arrival or if you must pre-order ahead so you can just grab it and go.

I did this on Thursday without any issue. In fact, my biggest problem was navigating the large crowds waiting at arrivals as I made my way to the Qantas transfer area.

Great sugestion, I'll give JL my QF details and check the bags thru, we have a heap of luggage as we will be traveling from our Europe winter trip.
