Hi guys,

Got a 12hour layover coming up in SGN in a few weeks - I know there's some "half day tours" you can do but I will have pretty much seen all there is to see in Ho Chi Minh by then. Just wondering if I'm flying from NHA - SGN [domestic flight] early morning (10am) then flying SGN - DAR late at night (10pm), is there an easy way to leave luggage at SGN airport and get a taxi into town to do some last minute shopping before returning home?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

No personal experience of this jaseblenner but the following links would indicate that there are luggage storage facilities there, and that some airlines may even let you check your bags very early (though I wouldn't rely on that, and I guess you may want to pack your last-minute shopping in them anyway).

If you are after personal experiences and none are forthcoming on AFF, you may wish to post the question over in the Asia travel section of flyertalk.com - might get a reply or two there maybe. Happy travels.

Awesome, thanks a lot for those links - sounds like we'll be able to drop our luggage somewhere and head into town for a few hours. Should be a bit more interesting than sitting in the terminal for a full day!

It's interesting that the airport code is still SGN - for Saigon. I am surprised it hasn't been changed to something like HCM.

Same theory would go for Beijing then too - airport code there is still PEK (Peking).
