Scuse my ignorance. I have never bothered with in seat power when flying previously on QF. Next week I am flying to London on MH on the A380 (economy class) and I would like to be able to use my laptop. I have googled this but can't find a definitive answer. What sort of power plug do I need? As it is Malaysia Airlines, will it be a standard Malaysian power plug? (ie. a british style 3 square pin). Or is it some other sort of universal connection? I have various different individual adapters to convert my Oz plug to UK/ US /continental 2 pin etc. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Most if not all new power installations have the universal type socket that takes most plugs.

markis10, thank you very much. It wasn't clear from anything I could find to look at or read.
I'll have my oz plug plus the GB one anyway.

I thought I would post again to tell anybody else who like me wasn't sure where the power outlet is. I had to ask a cabin crew member where to find the power on the A380 and at first she told me there was none in Economy. I told her that their web site said there was and again she told me there wasn't. However a few minutes later she came back to me and apologised for being mistaken and showed me where it was. By that time all the lights had been turned off and it was really difficult to see and I had to go ask for a torch so I could see what I was doing. I was amazed that the hostie then got her handbag and got a small torch out of it for me to borrow. Don't they have torches in case of emergency???? Anyway, I found it between my aisle seat and the seat next to me beneath the arm near the floor. She told me I would need the malaysian 3 pin plug so I used my adapter. I then found that my laptop wasn't charging at all!! So I removed the adapter and plugged in my australian plug and it worked.
So ignore the cabin crew and take note of markis10!!
