If anyone is looking for life or car insurance, 10k points bonus for life insurance (held for 6 months), 5k points bonus for comprehensive car insurance. until March 31

Min cost of life insurance for 7 months @ $12/month (100k coverage) = $84 so 0.8c/ point (ring up and say you want tailored option, they ask you a pile of questions about your health, but the other option is more expensive).

since Amex is not currently offering the insurance points bonuses, the 5k pts for car insurance might be useful for some if your comprehensive car insurance is due. I got the bonus from Virgin last year for car insurance as their price was competitive, but changed this year as they increased the price on renewal.

The car insurance sounds good but my current insurer offered me a $600 policy versus Virgin's $1,100 policy. No surprise I didn't see spending an extra $500 to get 5,000 points as a good deal.
