I'm flying PER - KUL - LHR, flight arrives from Perth at 0800 and departs for Heathrow at 0950.

Would I have time for a quick shower? I think I'll have access to the satellite lounge if I'm correct. I've never been through KL before so everything is new to me at this airport.

Flying J.

Thanks.

Assuming you arrive and depart from sattelite terminal then you should be ok. Even if you had to use train between terminals you'd be ok as trains run regularly and only take a couple of minutes.

Note at KUL they have security scanning at the gate same as SIN and from memory the gate closes ~20 minutes before departure. Make sure you know where your next gate is located as it can be confusing at times trting to find correct gate.

Yes, it's 20 mins. This gate based security is good for giving plenty of time to have shower, as you can go straight to the lounge after arriving, without a potential hold up at a central security point, like many airports.

Also I expect the boarding pass will indicate boarding at 08:50 for the 09:50 departure to LHR. Unless you enjoy queuing for security, and then sitting in a holding pen for half an hour, ignore this and stay in lounge (or shower!) for a while longer. Usually I think boarding starts around 30 mins before departure (good time to aim to be at gate if you're neither a last minute person, nor a worry wart about getting their early) , and finishes about 15 mins before departure. Whatever the case, you just need to present yourself to security before the cutoff time listed on the boarding pass - 20 mins, and all will be OK.

I transit through KUL frequently.
Plenty of time to go to the lounge and grab a shower.
If you have any kind of priority boarding, use this to your advantage, as there is usually a two stage entry to the gate - first after the security screen, with a desk checking boarding passes to send you down to the departure gate - and secondly at the gate itself immediately before boarding the aircraft
With a priority boarding pass (loyalty/premium class), simply walk to the front of the queue and present your boarding pass to the staff to allow them to send you through.
Saves a lot of time.

Quick update, loads of time for a shower and a surprisingly good flat white in the lounge before walking to the gate which was only about a 10 minute walk. Thanks all.

I have a tip - use the showers at the CX Lounge (they will direct you to the PP Shower and Spa). Much better facilities than the MH F lounge IMHO.

I'm sure they are much nicer but I was in J, still happy to have a shower anywhere along the way.
