New version of Android app has ads?

Hi Admin,

Have just updated to the latest version of the AFF Android app, however it appears to have ad's popping up randomly like when I start the app.
Is this meant to happen? I've never had ad's before in the app.

I noticed this too, although when I modified the landing page (under settings) to be subscribed threads it didn't occur.

Overall like the speed and feel of the new GUI. Some quirks will take some time to get used to... But do feel it is better from first impressions.

GOLD and SILVER members shouldn't see any ads on any version of AFF, and in general they don't.

Mine seems to show an ad everytime I load the app even whilst still logged on from last time. Thanks for the update!

I'm Gold and I do see an ad for Weechat every time I open the app and pull out the side menu and then it's fine until I close the app/switch apps and reopen/come back to it.

Also just updated and got an ad on updating. Also any reason why the app requires access to your audio?

Me, too. It's not overly annoying as on webpages. Strike the x bottom and you're into AFF.

I'm not a gold member...but my post count should be considered honorary member.
Hate the pop up adds and surprised for paying members it would still occur.
Not sure the point of no access to app, to input, so have to use google browser on mobile.
Takes a bit to get used to finding things....

I would think a paid up member getting ads when part of what they pay for was no ads, could do worse than learn to spell VCAT.

Lets put things in context: The iPhone App and the AFF browser version are unaffected. The new version of the Android App does seems to have a bug whereby it shows a SINGLE ad, when the App first opens. The remainder of the session is Ad free to paid members. Is this ideal? - no. Is it major inconvenience? - I don't think so. Will it be corrected soon? I'm hoping that Tapatalk will correct the bug in the next release.

Totally agreed - a single ad only. I can certainly live with it, particularly as it is a tapatalk I issue and not a config issue

The bug has now been corrected in the latest release. Thanks Tapatalk for being so responsive in correcting the (very minor) bug so quickly.
