Discovery pass is good value. It also allows you to upgrade to sleepers for $88 a night so if you're doing say a Melbourne - Brisbane trip $300 + $88 + $88 can save quite a lot of money!

I heard they're doing that with the XPT. I wonder why V/Line aren't running trains to either Wodonga or Wangaratta? Surely they could run into Albury Station empty to service the train? I can't imagine there is much travel into or out of Melbourne at the moment! Let's hope the XPT keeps making...

I've done the MEL-SYD XPT well in excess off 100 times! It's bumpy and hot, but I always love getting on the rails, and its a fun experience! I can't wait to see it running again!

I've done this trip by train a number of times - it's actually quite scenic and only 4 or so hours. NSW TrainLink who operate the service have strict social distancing policies and are not seating people together etc.
