Qantas Increases Legroom Charges; Changes to Row 4 selection on most 737 flights

You're actually right now that I've done some research (e.g. see What is the easiest way to get Oneworld Sapphire - the definite answer - Fly for Points) I keep forgetting that I don't do any long haul anymore, and doing the golden triangle routes are a slog to get to WP.

Qantas Increases Legroom Charges; Changes to Row 4 selection on most 737 flights

It never ceases to amaze me what the lack of competition in the Australian airline industry does. Qantas routinely treats their WP (and even SG, to be honest) members far worse than equivalent airlines overseas, whilst having far higher requirements to reach those tiers. I've previously been...

Changes to QFF earn on Uber airport trips

I'm assuming this is a change for the worse? Do we remember what the previous earn rates were?

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

Just called Qantas this morning. No hold, spoke to the agent, was told that it's an "IT issue", and that an email will be written to the IT team and it should be fixed within 24 - 48 hours. Seems like it could be related to the website updates they're doing, though it may well be purely...

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

I just got "downgraded" to SG (from WP) in the last few hours. Anyone know what's going on?

Can you "take" the 50SC Qantas Loyalty Bonus Reward in the next Membership Year?

Hey all, Have a pretty odd question, but something I'm sure others must have thought about. I'm currently in the last month of my membership year, and just got the 50 SC / 8,000 pts bonus from reaching 1,500 SCs. Obviously I'm still a fair while away from P1, so it wouldn't make any sense to...

    Best Seat on 737?

Just select the window and the aisle. If you want to sit next to each other and someone rocks up for the middle seat, then just offer to swap with them. You still get to sit next to each other, so you're happy. Whoever was dreading the middle seat got a little "upgrade", so they're happy. Win...

    Best Seat on 737?

In general, I prefer window seats. For J, that means my preferred seats are 2A and 2F - the second row is better for me, as it offers a bit more privacy and I can stretch my legs out under the seat in front, whereas I can't in the first row. For Y, I'm a bit divided. Generally, if the plane...

Qatar denied extra capacity into Australia

Even without the data, it seems plainly obvious to me that any decision regarding QR will likely impact its more direct competitors, that being EK, EY, SQ and the like (operating large-scale hub and spoke models) than QF. The only long haul international route QF is even mildly competitive on...

Does fare type matter for Qantas upgrades?

I know - obviously only referring to fare types that actually are upgradeable.

Does fare type matter for Qantas upgrades?

Hey everyone, Does the fare type matter for upgrade priority to J (e.g. will a flex fare be prioritised above a saver fare, above a classic rewards fare)? For reference, tossing up between a cash "Saver" fare and a classic rewards fare on QF69 MEL/DEL, pretty interchangeable price (on an...

LAX now has airside walkways between all terminals

What does this mean for most Aussies who fly into LAX to connect onto other US cities? Will we still have to exit to landside at TBIT when landing, then the re-clear security at another terminal?

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

Alrighty, let's give them a call and see how it goes. Wasn't going to bother since I would have re-qualified for Gold anyway, but there's a good chance I could make it to WP with the extra help.

Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

Hey Everyone - my membership anniversary is 30th April, and still no rollover. Reckon it's worth calling them up now?

    Qantas Status Not Displaying Correctly?

Ended up getting through on the phone after around 1 hour (not bad in the scheme of things). They put me on hold and fixed it up on the spot, it's displaying correctly now. What a strange occurrence though, their backend systems probably having all sorts of issues.

    Qantas Status Not Displaying Correctly?

Domestic though, so no check-in agent unfortunately. On the phone with QF now, waiting 40+ mins, will let you all know what ends up happening.

    Qantas Status Not Displaying Correctly?

My anniversary is 30th April, so doesn't seem like this is the issue. It also just hangs when I click on See Activity, so I assume something is bust on their end. Don't mind waiting till 24th Feb, but my digital boarding passes show "Silver" now (they were defs showing "Gold" yesterday...

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

BNE-MEL return in J - $1298 for (60 x 2) x 2 = 240 SCs, around $5.41 per SC. It's not the best value vs. other actual status runs, but it's fairly straightforward and is somewhat of a useful flight for most. (With DSC promotion).

What it's like to travel Qantas in 2021

Pies are always hard to do - there's a really fine line between soggy and dry. If I had to choose, I would much rather soft than too dry, but that's just me. FWIW, this has always been the case with QF vs. VA, at least IMO. VA have always had better looking food, much more neatly presented on...
