    Tiger Airways expanding Australian capacity by 65% in 2008. Two A319s to join fleet

    The logic behind LCC airports is not capacity normally. It is the LC in LCC. The budget carriers in Europe to not fly out of FRA or LHR. They fly out of airports which are called Frankfurt but in reality are 100km away. Those airport charge much lower fees and the carriers can offer cheaper...

    Retirement = No more flying!

    Congratulations Ikara. But I think you have a few things mixed up in your mind. When you have to fly for work, sure you sometimes don't want to see the inside of an AC. But now you have the time and the means to explore the world at your own pace, not something dictated by an employer. And...

    xONEx: "TRAVEL MAY NOT BE VIA THE POINT OF ORIGIN."

    I know, I loved those trips at the end. But if your aim is just to fly for SCs and Points, then you can take the domestic segments at the beginning of your trip. It doesn't have to be at the end. Only when you actually want to go somewhere is it better to have them at the end.

    xONEx: "TRAVEL MAY NOT BE VIA THE POINT OF ORIGIN."

    Couldn't you just fly SYD-MEL-HKG at the beginning of your trip if it was just about getting the flights?

    Access to first lounge

    I had a similar situation like the OP a few years back. Traveling SYD-SIN-LHR (as two segments) I had completed my flight which made me WP in Singapore. But I was not able to convince the staff to let me in because the computer was just showing SG. They (very friendly) pointed me in the...
