Article: What to expect flying from Sydney to Canada on AC34

Ive checked into flights more than 3 hours prior to boarding many many times. Like I alluded to before, it's not a big deal as long as you know. I also think there is a big difference between expectations of business travellers and leisure travellers, which is probably the dividing point on...

Article: What to expect flying from Sydney to Canada on AC34

Haha yeah that sounds about right. I just meant that there were several reviews on this specific route that I read and it was never mentioned. I just found that a tad surprising as I would have thought it's something worth mentioning. Anyway luckily for us they started checking in passengers...

Article: What to expect flying from Sydney to Canada on AC34

Yeah can totally understand that, especially for domestic, but not so much for long haul international. Either way, it's always good to know in advance what the situation is, if possible. Tad surprising because I did read several reviews for this AC34 service and it was never mentioned anywhere...

Article: What to expect flying from Sydney to Canada on AC34

Well they opened check-in around 7.10 so not too bad after all. The agent who told me 7.30 must have been preparing me for the worst haha

Article: What to expect flying from Sydney to Canada on AC34

not sure if it's been covered but they don't open check-in until 7.30am for the 10.20am flight. Just got to the airport now (6.55am) and there are about 50 passengers already here lined up waiting for the staff to arrive and open the Air Canada check in desks. There is very limited seats around...

    Air NZ cancellation

Yeah I did get on the phone to them as soon as I got the notification but there was a 2hr wait. It seems we were a bit unlucky because twice the agent thought she had got us both on for a direct Air Canada flight today but both times it ended up that after one of us was approved the other seat...

    Air NZ cancellation

We had an AirNZ flight cancelled today SYD to YVR via AKL apparently "due to an engine needing to be replaced" We were notified 14hrs before our flight. And about 4 hours later were given a very unacceptable change to a flight that would get us in late at night and also had us flying via IAH...

    ETA for Canada (Flight Change)

Thanks guys, good points. Was just stressing out a bit and not thinking clear. So frustrating when airlines pull this cough at the last second!

    ETA for Canada (Flight Change)

My partner and I have ETAs for Canada but our flight into Vancouver was cancelled and we will now be arriving a day later on a different flight number and with a different airline. Wondering if the current ETAs still work ok, or should we apply for new ones with the new flight information...

    Aircraft change AKL - YVR

Wow talk about the irony,l. 24hrs before the flight is due to depart they have cancelled it. No mention at all about what we are supposed to do with our Sydney to Auckland flight in the morning

    How to renew priority pass?

I have a Citi card which includes 2 priority pass lounge visits per year. I registered for priority pass in the first year of the card but now it's the 2nd year and it's saying my priority pass membership has expired. Does anyone know how I can renew it so that I am able to use the 2 passes for...

    Aircraft change AKL - YVR

Oh thanks for that tip. We had selected 2 adjacent middle seats but changed them to 2 x window seats now. Luckily there were 2 available, rows 19 and 20, so we will still technically be neighbours lol And good to know that the seats are not as bad as I thought! Kind of tempted to just upgrade...

    Aircraft change AKL - YVR

So we booked business class flights for a holiday to Canada and I just noticed that for the AKL-YVR leg the plane has been changed from a dreamliner to a 777-367ER. I was really looking forward to trying the new AirNZ business class product on the Dreamliner as I have read that it's a much...

Virgin business class Bali flights rip-off

The lounge at DPS is hilarious. The spirits are all the local budget brands, who knows what they have in them. There was literally nothing edible whatsoever. I wish we had taken the meal vouchers instead so we could have at least got something to eat.

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

It's funny but when you first enter it does have that brief feeling of being somewhat special, for all of a few seconds. But as soon as you are a few metres in, either side, you are confronted with the reality; which is that it is just a mass feeding lot.

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Had the opportunity of visiting the Silverkris lounge in Singapore 4 times in the last month. I know that is a long way shy of making me any sort of expert but each time it has been packed to the brim. Can't say it ever really matched my expectations as a top tier business class lounge. Overall...

Virgin business class Bali flights rip-off

Each to their own. Not sure where you plucked $50 for international lounge access equivalent to Qantas First Lounge which you get as a platinum member with Qantas, even when flying Jetstar in Y. Last time I checked Virgin still charge $65 for their domestic lounges for a "casual pass".

Virgin business class Bali flights rip-off

Ditto for travelling in Y (international) as you still get access to first lounge if platinum.

Virgin business class Bali flights rip-off

If anything I'm a fan of Virgin's domestic J product, not so much the current international offering (which this thread was initially about) I don't buy into the whole argument that lounge access is only worth $50 and an amenity kit is only worth $20 blah blah blah. The overall experience is...

Virgin business class Bali flights rip-off

Yes but you are cherry picking the cheapest dates (in January) for Virgin while using a discount code against just going on Qantas website and booking any date (in January) without a code. Most customers wouldn't even know that any discount codes exist, and many people are not flexible with the...
