    2025 Amex Membership Rewards Devaluation

I’m a little less pessimistic. I think these changes are in response to the RBA plans. Interchange fees aren’t the only thing that dictates the transfer rates, though of course they are a significant component. I doubt they’d want to do two devaluations so close to each other, that’s the sort...

    2025 Amex Membership Rewards Devaluation

Think this is very likely indirectly linked to the planned RBA changes. Points landscape is getting horribly devalued here. Not sure we will see anything but a token gesture somewhere else. Amex is probably going to reduce what it charges businesses so it needs to balance it out somewhere.

Qantas - Emirates Award flight Discussion

It'd be a weird way to restrict it though. The seats are available, just not in certain combinations. Still seems to be a booking engine issue.

    How to find Aeroplan flights

Really hoping Air India bring their newer aircraft to Australia before long. There's so much award space to Europe and I've read the A350s to London are quite good (and they're upgrading their India lounges) but I just can't deal with being on that coughpy old 2-3-2 777 for 11 hours.

Article: How I Booked Business Class to Asia on Points for Christmas

If too many Australians get a wind of this Aeroplan hack then we will definitely see availability get worse and/or Air Canada patch up the sweet spot in the redemption chart. Another good ploy is 90k points return to CGK via SIN then flying cheap $4k business class return to Europe from CGK...

Planning trip to USA and/or Canada for WC 2026, any tips and advice?

Booked MEL - NAN - DFW on FJ in business with QF points a couple of weeks back, will arrive on opening day. There's decent availability on this route but the DFW plane doesnt run every day. You may need to use multi city. Also booked SEA - SIN - MEL in Singapore business with KF points.

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

They don't care about devaluing reward points though. I am disappointed about this development. However to be honest these charges being converted into reward points essentially functions as a de facto consumption tax on all credit card users to the disproportionate benefit of a relatively...

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

Do we know how likely these proposals are to get fully adopted?

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

Australia still has relatively good CC rewards to be honest, worse than USA but this will take it down to European levels. 30k bonuses for CC sign ups maybe? Wonder what the knock on effect on QFF will be?

    Qatar business reward no availability?

24th March isn't long before Easter. Wouldn't be surprised if availability drops off around the Easter holidays

Credit Card Offers Bankwest Qantas World: 100,000 bonus Qantas Points (min. spend $35K)

When did you actually hit the minimum spend? Often it can take one or two statements.

Credit Card Offers Bankwest Qantas World: 100,000 bonus Qantas Points (min. spend $35K)

Thanks for heads up, though I've paid into industry super fund before via payment processor so it should be okay.

Emirates restricts first class awards to elite members only

EK F is still worth it even with the high carrier charges. You can literally eat and drink the lions share of those back on a typical trip. It's EK J which is no longer worth it. The charges are the same as F.

Emirates restricts first class awards to elite members only

Given they've specifically mentioned that Skywards members in various countries can get Silver by opening Emirates credit cards, I'm guessing the aim is to drive sign ups. If it was about rewarding their most loyal fliers they wouldn't have made the point of mentioning this. Of course some US...

Emirates restricts first class awards to elite members only

It's likely led to a temporary worsening of F availability due to a bunch of YOLO redemptions. Overall this is actually quite good news for Australians though. Somewhat less competition for EK F seats is always a good thing. I do wonder whether limiting QFF access would breach the JV contract...

Emirates restricts first class awards to elite members only

The one thing that did give me hope was the fact Emirates were relatively broad with which members they kept it open to - if it was just the top elites then QFF would have no chance. Still...what remains to be seen is whether availability will be as good to QFF even if it's possible to book...

Emirates restricts first class awards to elite members only

A decade ago you'd be right. Now it will spread like wildfire on TikTok and the blogs. I mean the blogs are one thing, if we're on AFF we use the blogs too. We usually go searching specifically for this stuff, it stays a little more niche. But the TikTok generation are insufferable. They...

Emirates restricts first class awards to elite members only

I'm sure they can technically update the software to do most things but it'd be a step change in how any other rewards were dealt with. Apart from QFF metal every single other seat is just as accessible to Bronze as to Platinum. It'd also likely need a reciprocal arrangement eg EK top tier...

Emirates restricts first class awards to elite members only

Sadly it would seem to make sense they'd limit QFF. If it was Velocity in this situation then I could potentially see them keeping it because it's AFAIK not a significant points transfer currency from US cards. But QFF points are transferable from US Amex so the US TikTok influencers would...

Emirates restricts first class awards to elite members only

Upgrades not affected apparently. But doesn't this need Skywards miles anyway? I'm aware this is the Skywards forum but I'm guessing a majority of people reading this collect QFF rather than Skywards
