We bought a small portable fan USB chargeable in China. Travelled back home to Aus with it in carryon with Qantas Int/Dom with no problems. Our 4yo used it on the plane. No issues. Hope that helps.

Yes I do understand that, but the point I was making (though probably not clear) is that he’s not a ‘guest’ in the lounge and is in the lounge on his status.

Ha. So basically what you’re saying it really doesn’t matter much (except a midweek flight outside holidays). It all seems a lottery to me, still haven’t grasped the finer points yet, but I guess that comes with time and experience.

Makes logical sense. Learn new things all the time. I’ll keep that in mind when I book holidays, and use points for awards or upgrades
