VA Business product itself is already better than their local rivals. The food, service and seat are better and both domestic and international. The Qantas lounges are better but given how many planes I take I don’t really like to be in them. It not super urgent for them to build out better...
Yes. The main perk I use is fly ahead. Free Economy X is good as well but being able to book the last flight of the day 8pm back to my home city and just show up and get on a plane after my meetings are done is awesome. Generally exclusively use VA for my return flights now because of this.
Hi all,
I've been trying to spend some of my points balance with VA booking a codeshare in suites with Singapore Airlines to London and back. A couple of items keep frustrating my ability to redeem my points:
1. Manual Searching
I cant submit an email request to have someone actually look in...
Virgin Australia and Hawaiian Airlines don’t seem to be getting along at the moment. At the beginning of each of my flights from Sydney to Honolulu the Hawaiian Airlines attendants (Qantas staff on the Sydney end) have made a point to ask me to provide feedback to VA and ask velocity to lobby...
Some of the comments on this thread are weird. People obviously take their program as a team sport, fainting while clutching their Qantas biscuits. Qantas is an established player, I want virgin to be different and then to pick based on my purpose. Take your business where you like but people...
I'm not sure the OP is the target of the program. Don't get me wrong. Qantas is a nice airline but it's really very stuffy. Even the flight crews are older than me. I feel like I'm flying my grandfathers airline. As a 32rd old exec, virgin is mostly pitched towards people like me.
Family...
Only if you think there is value in a whole of country figure. Which, given the current state of the education/employment market, there isn't.
The column on the right shows the dramatic drop from 71.3% to 64.3% between 82-11. The number hasn't gotten better since then. You can see the core of...
Not sure, IHG tends to pick only certain properties for sales and I can't ever remember them being consistent in terms of timings. IC Tokyo Bay is a reasonably good property. Make sure you learn the short cut walk to the Hamamatsucho Station (it runs next to the park). It is much quicker than...
Re: Qantas: non-stop Australia (Perth) -Europe (London) Boeing 787 flights set to soa
I think Australians must be the only people who defend stopovers (not necessarily a bad thing). I personally could go either way. The longer trips are good inasmuch as they challenge the hub system of Qantas'...
I like Samsonite and Antler. Affordable but not tacky. I personally think spending too much on luggage is a bit of a waste. The same chap throws it all into the plane in first class or economy.
I agree. I could have been more diplomatic but I mirrored the post I responded to.
Have to take issue with this. Houses are exempt not because the government tried to fix a greater problem but because those on pensions act in their own interest and prefer it the way it is. This when we have...
So I will take that as an apology?
Not really. I busted my biscuit over a stereotype laced rant from someone sledging millennials as being the core of the affordability problem. The reality is that older generations dominate the political spectrum at the moment (due mostly to numbers). The...
I think some clarification would be great on this. If it is allowed I would like to know. That being said, there is always an issue around unpublished benefits. Certainly not a VA specific problem.
I am annoyed at that. My rate is currently around 3.6 and I'm reasonably content with it. The good thing about having rates higher than the rest of the world is that we have some fat to chop in the event of a downturn.
