Was looking through fares for the Singapore Grand Prix weekend when I stumbled on this gem of a deal Note you must do the following 1. Use Incognito mode in your browser. Velocity bookings on Etihad "not transferrable"

Not including taxes - they quoted me 196,000 points + $667 in taxes. I tried to do the booking myself online, but they did not show the fare online. The only flights shown are ones which stop through the US

Velocity bookings on Etihad "not transferrable"

Trying to book an Iteniary of YYZ to SYD via AUH The layover time in AUH is 3 hours. When I contacted the Virgin Velocity call centre, I was informed that the booking had to made as two seperate bookings, even though the layover is less than 24 hours. When I asked on why this is the case...

Anyone managed to use their Amex to pay a supplier which does not accept Amex?

This is a great idea! Just out of interest, what's stopping the landlord from just paying herself with her credit own credit card? For example, use her Amex Explorer credit card to pay herself using Square? Effectively, she's paying 1.9 cents to get 1.5 points. Works out to be 1.266 cents per...

Anyone managed to use their Amex to pay a supplier which does not accept Amex?

Just wondering if anyone's tried to contact Amex directly about paying suppliers which normally does not accept Amex? Using Rewardpay is one option, but that has been getting mixed reviews on this forum, and also the processing fee is 2.4% If Rewardpay make a business out of it by charging...

Would you recommend becoming a cardholder?

I would recommend Diners to anybody. The first 3 months was frustrating, as it takes a long time to even get your card, and then you don't get your points until 2 months after you've spent the money SPG is definitely worth it, and it's saved me a tonne of money when I book reward nights during...

Qantas Platinum Status in 9 SYD-AKL Return Business Class Flights (Spend only $7000)?

Qantas Platinum Status in 18 SYD-AKL Return Business Class Flights (Spend $14,000)? According to the Qantas points calculator, you get 40 status credits for a one way SYD-AKL flight. So that's 80 status credits for a return flight. To get platinum status, you need 1400 status credits , so...

Deen - what do you mean by "Bpay using the MC"? Do you mean pre-pay your MC using Bpay and then spending? Or do you mean that we can actually make Bpay payments using the MC - I can't see anywhere in the Diners Club online system which allows me to do that

My points came through for the $60k woohoo! In conclusion - even if you prepay, the points will come through.

    Diners-ropey start

Yeah mine's not a Canberra payment - it's for a supplier. Fingers crossed for the points. Personally, I don't see how they can justify not giving points on prepayments. Essentially, we're spending the same money, but it's better for the Bank in terms of their cash flow.

Ahh cool will let you guys know. Fingers crossed! I had to pay 1% surcharge, so if I just wasted $600, I'm going to be very annoyed :(

Uh Oh - I prepaid $60k last week... I didn't know what I wouldn't get my points! Is there anything in the terms and conditions which says that wouldn't honour the points if we repay?
