I'd be very interested to know which one you end up with. Being a staffie, they give me the card for free so I guess I can't complain too much about it. I don't really spend much on gov spending, and evrything I can I put into the Amex. It's getting tougher on this points thing that's for sure.

Amex is the only one offering SPG now which will be my go to card. As others have posted, now to find a good Visa/MC to go with it! My statement finishes on the 13th of the month so hopefully I can get in before the June 15 cutoff. Hopefully they post on the 14th June and I can still get them...

Thanks so much for the reply andy2015. As it happens, everything happens for a reason. The day I got told no, AA brought out their mileage sale so I was able to secure that trip for even less! I'll be keeping it in mind for the next trip though. Hope you have better luck than I did.

Hi all, So I just got off the phone from an AS rep who told me that my stopover via HKG would not be possible. I'm trying to get NRT-HKG-SYD and she's telling me that because the flight is not originating or ending up in the US, I can't add a stopover and therefore need to pay for 2 sectors...
