Thanks all for the info, we just flew as well, all valid from the previous post. The FA persuaded most people to have the supper meal soon after take off and let us sleep until about an hour before landing (I think). No proper meal service if you choose to eat later.

Want to ask any recent traveler on SQ 218 about meal service... what are the better options? Have supper? Or sleep first then eat after wake up? Do they do full meal service at all? Will BTC make any difference? TIA

Cool, I got that... A scenario: I want to drop the bag early, tap Octopus to go in and drop the bag but decided not to go to the airport but do more shopping in town. Will there be a second charge when I do decide to go to the airport?

@RooFlyer You meant using the Airport Express Single/Return journey ticket? I assume if using the Octopus card will have to pay twice? E.g. Once to enter the check in area to drop bag, then go explore the city and come back in couple hours to take the train to airport?

That's my first preference at the moment, thinking of redeeming JAL flight using Alaska... How easy to family pool? Does it involve transferring to a single account then redeem?

My main aim is to consolidate all the miles into 1 account (through family transfer) that I can use to redeem flight, for all the be scattered among 4 family members is a waste, we don't fly as much (once a year) so the miles collected might eventually expired.

Thanks all for your input. The reason the seat went missing after I login is because I wanted more than 1 Reward Seat (there's only 1 available). I think the problem lies with VA search engine, I searched for 2 seats and it shows that Reward Seat and Anytime seat is available for selection...

No, that's not the issue since I've enough points to redeem 2 seats... but could be more williamsf1 said where SQ code share flight only available at Any seat reward (high points)

I managed to find some Business Rewards seat using VA website (for SQ code share flight) and able to select it. Then I login to my velocity account, the selected seat is gone. Anyone has the same experience? What can I do to get those seat?
