    Luggage - so many choices!

Simpler Solution, Buy a bag with the heaviest gauge YKK zipper on it. I've got a rolling duffel, the back plate and wheels are destroyed but the zipper holds strong. Totally agree with not dropping $800 on a bag, especially a Rimowa or heavier hard case. You can basically pay for the bag in...

    Luggage - so many choices!

I work FIFO, travel to vendors in Europe and Asia for Audits, and in my free time do rebreather and cave diving. The only bags that ever work for me are 100L duffel bags from The North Face or similar. I've got some heavier black diamond duffels, but I opt for newer lighter Northface one...

How do you make your FIFO relationship work?

My partner works a flexible job, We usually try and line up time off every swing, we decide on something to do, then spend the month talking about it. For communications, I'm using whatsapp and skype as the call rate over here is a killer, data is expensive to at around 50 Kina ($25AUD) for...

My very last flight over I was able to get them to put the code share and my FF number on the boarding pass, the flights from POM-BNE I'm not able to, Air Niuguni staff were not helpful at all, I will continue to try every flight. If my boarding pass has just the PX code and no FF stated, then I...

Yes, I agree. unfortunately most of my flights are booked with Air Niugini Economy via a corporate booking company. It code shares Qantas, but they book me on the PX code not the QF so I only get a dismal amount of FF points (around 1,100 per flight) and no SC. I also usually have to send my...

    Business packing essentials

Travel adapter, pocket wifi router, passport billfold that holds a few sim cards, two different currencies, all your cards and a few sets of clothes, add a laptop and toiletries, some condoms and panadol, you're set. I can relate to the tools and parts statement, I get hounded at POM...

What is the best luggage for someone who travels overseas a lot?

I own both a North Face and Tatonka PVC duffel bag, the expedition types with massive zips on them. Have a few black diamond expedition duffels as well. some have backpack straps, others don't, but for carrying tools, ice-axes, metal parts, etc they are all top of class.
