Domestic Security Body Scanners - Bad for Women?

I never said that it’s ok to violate blokes. It appears that if it never happens to you, then it is either not a problem or it doesn’t exist. What a privileged life that must be! I simply relayed the story of something that did, and does happen, and asked if anyone else has come up against it...

Domestic Security Body Scanners - Bad for Women?

I think everyone will have different experiences and I agree with your posit that more training will help.

Domestic Security Body Scanners - Bad for Women?

It's not 'intended' to be gender specific. It's a consequence. They may not have asked you to sign something. If you have one, ask your female partner if it's fine.

Domestic Security Body Scanners - Bad for Women?

Is the new scanning tech in QF D terminal meant to demean women and subject them to unwanted and unwarranted attention? It is if you ask the women working for SNP/Janus doing the post-scan searches. Just a week ago my partner (female early 50s, CEO) after not travelling for the last two months...

Article: Free Chairman’s Lounge for Politicians: A Conflict of Interest?

Agreed. Well put. My only beef about QF and the $2b is that the gov should have taken equity in them. Yeah, I know...I'll get me coat.

Best way to contact SQ these days

I've had the same experience as many here - long waits, hang ups, CC staff who lack the training etc. Here's one for the conspiracy theorists, maybe this is intentional...Perhaps they want NO CCs and to move us all to the online model? When the SQ online thing works it is awesome. When it...

Thailand Test & Go & Bangkok in Feb 2022

Hey @BensAdventures - Thanks for the report. Really useful as I'm off on what sounds like a very similar trip (incl. APEC card) on Saturday (26 Feb). Have spent a solid block of time (8-ish hours) on compliance. Worth it to be thorough though!

    Top Three Holiday Photos

Between work obligations in Amsterdam and Klosters last July, I managed a quick trip to the battlefields in northern France and Belgium to see our boys. They’ve been there for over 100 years and want them to know we remember them. 1724 PTE Patrick HYDE, 26th Bn, Killed in Action, 29 July 1916...

    So..LATAM..how good was that?

Just wanted to report on my experience with LATAM in Business on a quick trip SYD-AKL this week. It was great. Very friendly service and one of the best J seats I've been in for a while (I travel MH a lot and it...isn't). Not sure how I've managed it but this was my first go-round in a 787...

    Proof.......The Yowie does exist!

this thread is about fat people. Well good for you amp-qld And congratulations on winning your weight war - being genetically blessed with size (makes it easy for my beloved to find me in a crowd) and being a bit fat makes me no less inclined to think that your post is more generalising...

    Proof.......The Yowie does exist!

Some of you seem to have missed the point of dealing with this issue tactfully. That said, like Muzfly (and of similar frame) I find the lord of the flies-like nature of some of these posts pretty offensive. Not all large/tall/fat pax are the same. Lumping all large folks into a generic pile is...

    Perth airport second world?

'Brisbane airport’s new runway will in fact be the first major runway work done at any private airport in Australia since they were handed over.' Doesn't widening, taxiways and ramp to accommodate A380 in MEL count as major works?
