After an original grumpy post about P1 I have to say I have been very pleased with their assistance over the past couple of weeks. Their responses have been timely and very helpful. They also got a redemption seat for me on the last QF flight out of FRA in J which will be a unique experience...

Just to add to this debate, be aware that Malaysian does offer 30 kg on some flights. I have my parents on a Malaysian flight from Australia to Europe (and return) and they have 30 kg allowance each. Worth checking directly with the airline. I agree that the website only speaks of 20 kg.

That is great to hear....I rang the normal Platinum line yesterday to see if I could swap from the QF2 to the QF10 as there are more open seats in First and therefore a greater chance of getting my points upgrade request from Business. All I was met with was a resounding "NO - the J fare class...

I just did a LAN flight to AKL in Business. Only received points for premium economy (no status points) but status credits for business. Overall happy with that.

The A Zone is a great place to sit on the two class aircraft. You may want to consider the A/B or J/K seats so one of you gets a window. The advantage over the upper deck is that there is less foot traffic and you exit quickly on landing. If you are coming from upstairs you get stuck waiting...
