Qantas increases points required for Emirates rewards

QFF is becoming useless. Still you have to trim to pay the Chief $24m.

If you had a day to spend with AJ to fix QF what would you say ?

The worthlessness of points and the inability to use them in most cases. I had a quick glance at the shop, in the event that is where I will use them, and was gobsmacked at the worthlessness of the points. I see where the $24m comes from.

Angry pax declines to Raise Reclined Seat During Service...

Why not have non-reclining section like the old smoking/no smoking areas. I don't like being reclined on at any time.

    Oversold flights & operational upgrades

I boarded a BA flight from Bangkok to Melbourne a few years ago. Someone was sitting in my allocated seat. The seat had been allocated twice. I went to premium economy. Accidents should happen more often.

Qf syd dom - int 1:05 tfer

I recently had a 70 min transfer window from MEL to SYD to catch a flight to BKK. When I rang the 131313 number after an enormous wait, I was told the time was sufficient and if I wanted to change it, cough up $400. The ground staff in MEL were really good and put me on an earlier flight which...

Beware the complicated conditions of card travel insurance

My experience with ANZ Platinum has been good. I had a cancellation a few years ago, due to a medical emergency the night before my outbound flight. They were good. I now have a pre-existing condition, but they have covered me two times after I pay $75 for the assessment. I had to argue a little...

Virgin to remove bagfree fares from Domestic Routes

Overhead lockers are becoming unuseable for people boarding late. Airlines should enforce size and weight limits. This move by VA may help in that direction.

Your QFF Program (Actual) Enhancements Wishlist

Ability to book classic awards more easily. Don't cloak robbery as a benefit to members, when changing rules. Given I fly from Melbourne, more partner seat availability. If you are forced onto Jetstar, there should be a discount.

    Banks Vs Airlines

Modern marketers in biggish companies now try to "put one over you" rather than market a solution or product. See the reams of terms and conditions. See the incomparable plans that telcos, power companies and the like dish up. Banks offering cheap balance transfers to new customers whilst...

    Why JetStar

I flew "business" from BKK (Bangkok) to MEL a while ago. Seat room O.K. Entertainment was a tablet with shows loaded on it. Food, just so-so. Crew tried hard. No lounge access. Was about $1300 one way as I recall. I'd have been happier in Premium Economy with one of the full service mobs, I...

Majority 'don't trust' female airline pilots

When I returned on Royal Brunei (fairly Islamic country) Air, the announcements were done by the First Officer. It was revealed as we approached the terminal that the Captain was a woman. I don't think that they were trying to hide anything, by the way, it just happened that way. Congrats to the...

The demise of Qantas international flights

MEL to BKK (hub for Indochine) is now Jetstar. Suits some people but not all. FF points are almost unexpendable on so called partner flights. Makes FF membership increasingly worthless.

The ex-QFF benefits list. What do you miss the most?

Maybe I am not looking correctly, but I have trouble finding business seats from MEL to BKK or SGN. There are plenty which state that the flight from SYD to either is usually listed as you will fly economy to BKK or SGN. Not much use. I don't regard Jetstar as business.

Anyone else having problems booking flights on the QF site?

I was looking at using points for a classic award either to or from Bangkok. In the case of starting in Bangkok, I had to take my credit card to an address in downtown "The Big Mango" within 2 days of booking. They had me a located in BKK. The flights from MEL were not really available unless...

Money exchange for Vietnam - At arrival airport or prior to departure?

Citibank ATMs allow about 8m dong withdrWAL, WHEREAS vN BANKS HAVE A MAX OF 2m. With ATM fees, this can add up. Some of the above advice re provate dealers may mean you don't have to go to ATMs very often. You should not need lots of dong, excellent value.

Low & Shoulder seasons to Asia??

Hello Team, I see lots of references to Low, High and Shoulder Seasons . Obviously many people have greater airline knowledge than I. When are the low, high and shoulder seasons to Asia; say Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam? I am considering my next trip and want to balance fares with weather.
