Good on QANTAS for checking it...been on way too many flights where the overhead lockers are jam packed because people have been allowed to take much more than they should. Nothing worse than when you board early, put your bag in the overhead locker and then some latecomer rocks up and shoves...

Disappointing. Next time they offer the no joining fee promotion in Australia I'll be signing up... C'mon Red Roo, give us Aussies the same deal as the New Zealanders have!!!!

Has been some improvement...flew on Saturday, points in my account yesterday with a Starter Plus fare. Slightly slower than QANTAS but happy to get them without any problems!

Regularly eat at Glasshouse Cafe in Caulfield (Melbourne) and they always scan and award points without any problems.

Fair point. The "food" is cough. For your irregular traveller, who travels with luggage, QANTAS is still often much better value than JQ or DJ flights. For example, I'd rather pay $109 with QF to go Adelaide to Melbourne, than $88 with Virgin plus $12 luggage, plus food & drink.

Could it possibly be linked in with the Coles Group? Is Coles planning a revamp of Fly Buys around a similar time? Seems that Woolies and QANTAS are working together well.
