    It's reset time again

I am in the same situation as you Ashleyn, :( SC's wiped at end of November.. I'm based in the UK at the moment so fell a long way short of retaining WP for the next year unfortunately. I've only been a QFF member for three years, only the last of which was WP, so didn't expect to be comped...

2 for 1 Great Barrier Reef cruises Hi all, just thought I'd share - just received an email about 2for1 cruises on the Great Barrier Reef from Cairns with Coral Princess Cruises. Have to book by the end of this week (28th March) by the looks of it. Cruises are 3 or 4 nights. We've done one of...

Wellington flights cancelled due to fog

After the week I've had I can assure you it can paralyse Europe too. Was booked on Swiss to fly Florence - Zurich on Tuesday - fog rolled in, flight cancelled and told to go to Pisa for alternate flight where the weather was "fine". Arrived in Pisa and sitting on the plane on the tarmac for an...

qff current status showing on booked aa domestic flight

I had similar issues on my travels around the US last week. On my previous trip to the US in August my Emerald status was printed on boarding cards (status renew is Nov 2013) but last week for some reason all boarding passes printed Sapphire. I had the a/c staff re-enter ff number again and it...

    Who pays for WIFI?

Generally I have my dongle with me so in Aus not a problem. Overseas can be a problem. I was in London recently and typically Accor was GBP15 for 24 hours at the Mercure in Kensington, the no name 3 star joint next door had free wireless.. amazing they can do it but Accor can't.

    Frontier

I've flown them on a couple of sectors of about 2hrs each and they were fine, no real problems with what received given the cheapish price - would have no issues flying them again.

    Favourite Part of Traveling

For me, it differs between work and holiday: Work - the last 30 minutes of the flight LAX-SYD, the sun is coming up, you're descending through the clouds and you're almost home. Holiday - the last 30 minutes before arriving at the destination and the excitement to get out and explore The...

What is the best luggage for someone who travels overseas a lot?

I dont tend to spend too much on luggage as like others I spend quite a bit of time in Europe for work and find that the wheels generally arent up to it on the rough cobblestones etc. Had a new Antler (not sure of the name, but a hard plastic back and soft front) and the bloke at the shop said...

Where to buy Qantas or Air NZ model planes in Sydney or Auckland airports?

Gemini Jets (you can google it, not enough posts to ad a link) make some really nice ones, heavy metal, high quality and not too expensive (at around $50). Several model shops in Australia have them or get them online. They are limited runs as well so quite collectable as they sell out.

    eDreams online booking

I use edreams all the time for Europe flights and never had an issue (infact just booked an FLR-Seville flight today on there. An Italian friend here in FLR put me on to them (even on long haul), she uses them for everything. Admittedly I only use them for simple point to point or return intra...

Top of the wishlist: 1. Macchu Pichu 2. Cruise the Amazon 3. Petra, Jordon The Kimberley is also fantastic (another advert for WA) we did a cruise between Darwin and Broome aboard the Oceanic Discoverer of Coral Princess Cruises last year, a real highlight - afterwards we did a side trip to...

Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Sat next to Cyndi Lauper LAX-SYD a couple of years back.. Knew the face but couldnt place her (I'm not the talkative type when flying), was bugging me all flight. Then until I got home and saw her judging on Australian Idol and it all clicked!

Advice for italy for 15 days

Lucky you, Italy is wonderful. I'd always struggled with Italy in the past, found it a bit hectic and fast for my liking, but the last two years I've rented an apartment for a month over the northern summer in Florence and had a ball. The trick I think is to find a base for your stay and then...

I love the two songs "don't change" and "romeo and juliet" on QF flights

Is the "Don't Change" one the remake of the INXS song - sung acoustically by Kirk Pengilly and Andrew and Jon Farriss with the QF choir? If so you can get it on Itunes under INXS or buy their album Original Sin.

    Double Status Credits?

Hi everyone, first time poster, long time "lurker"... Anyway, I'm QF Gold (economy business flyer...) and coming to the end of my year. This year I have been flying others apart from Qantas which has left me a couple of hundred SCs short of gold retention. Have to travel to Europe in late May...
