People coming past the curtain to use the dunny, especially row-4 platinums.

I have to agree with the OP on this thread regarding the use of facilities in J, by Y passengers regardless of status. I'm currently PS hitting SG for the first time in November and a FF with QF for close on 20 years. I've flown F domestically a few times over the years ( at my own expense ) and...

US Baggage Charges; has anything changed ?

:eek:Woohoo:D Had a win with the baggage restriction issue! I called Qantas and was told that as long as you are travelling within 24hrs of your domestic flight it is considered a connector and all baggage weight restrictions apply as per your international connection. So now I don't need to...

US Baggage Charges; has anything changed ?

Well I'll be over there on the 25th and will know first-hand exactly what our baggage limits with AA are and i'll blog back and let you know how we went Al. I'll talk to them at LAX and find out exactly what our entitlements, as OW travellers are and get it written up here for you.

US Baggage Charges; has anything changed ?

Am flying BNE-SYD on Sunday and then SYD-AKL-LAX-SMF the next day, Monday only beause the JASA departs at 06:30 (oh, to dream of a flight system the likes of the U.S. where you can get an early am connection the same day you're going international) But I do think I'll take up your advise Serfy...

US Baggage Charges; has anything changed ?

G'day Serfy and thanks for your comment, Unfortunately when I booked the JASA we were driving down to Sydney a week before the flight but changed plans and got a red e deal without thinking about the baggage allowance. The whole trips been worked out in stages as we had to rush to snap up the...

US Baggage Charges; has anything changed ?

In addition to what odysseus has already advised here for AA, and for future reference for anyone looking for this same advise the following is from the AA website: "The following passengers will be allowed a 1st and/or 2nd checked bag at no additional charge provided it falls within the size...

    cruising hawaii

Good to hear you enjoyed it Bill. I read a lot of forum entries, both good AND bad regarding food/crew/price and the concensus was it wasn't worth what people paid for in comparison to other cruiselines they had been on. Long lines for buffet meals, poor quality meals at the "extra-charge"...

Hawaiian Airlines J seat OW LAX-HNL-SYD for $1604.00 USD

Check out priceline.com. I have managed to get 2 J seats OW, LAX-HNL-SYD for $1535AU each!! And once the booking went through today it shows up as F seats for both legs... Bonus ! The trick is that it only seems to show up on certain dates/days. LAX-HNL was Tuesday 30th Aug and HNL-SYD was...

    cruising hawaii

I have actually just this week been researching the same thing and it turns out that NCL Pride of America is the only ship to start/finish in Hawaii. Checked a lot of forums (take a look at cruisecritic.com, very good for feedback/reviews) and after speaking to my aussie TA who concurred...

    Best J seats QF A330 SYD-AKL-LAX?

Thanks for all the input guys:) This all certainly helps make a more informed decision on our seating and from the sounds of it I will be changing seats a little further back from 1AB. This will help to keep Mrs_Tyro happy and content on the trip over which in turn will provide me with some...

    Best J seats QF A330 SYD-AKL-LAX?

This may or may not have been answered and I have looked far and wide with no luck, but does anyone have any opinions on best/worst of the 36 J seats on the int. A330-200? Seatguru has no "good/some drawback/poor seat" comments for any J seats and the only concerns I have are that sitting too...

One way multi-stop from BNE - LAX and beyond...a real puzzler!

Thanks Oz, I really appreciate the help/advice that yourself and others have offered so freely. It's really helped to make a daunting task that much more managable. And so, weighing up all the options and opinions I have bitten the bullet and grabbed the last J classic award flight available...

One way multi-stop from BNE - LAX and beyond...a real puzzler!

Thanks for the heads-up MelUser. One of the questions I had in my original post was..."In choosing the classic award flight using points to obtain J seating, is this booking guaranteed or is there a possibility of being bumped back to Y for some reason?" Would you happen to have any idea...

One way multi-stop from BNE - LAX and beyond...a real puzzler!

Thanks for the advise pshepvic. Getting all the flights on the one PNR would'nt be a problem as all bar the 1st US domestic flight will have days between travelling. I think I might give the call centre a call and see what they say, and if all else fails I can purchase last minute domestic...

One way multi-stop from BNE - LAX and beyond...a real puzzler!

Thanks for replying eastwest :) and I hope you got through the worst of Yasi up there without too much trouble. My brother lives at Pallerandra and had to hightail it out to Mundingburra to stay dry so I know what you guys had to go through. I did assume that to go through Qantas I'd be charged...
