If these use lithium batteries, isn't it illegal to use them with checked luggage?

    Qantas Covid 19 cancelations

Accor gave me a future credit, which is fine. They're only extending status by six months though.

    Qantas Covid 19 cancelations

You have to not travel now, no choice. But beware - I cancelled open of my domestic trips and did NOT get a voucher, just the usual cancellation charges.

    Qantas Covid 19 cancelations

Thanks for the replies - am I not getting the voucher pop-up because they're Red e Deals fares?

    Qantas Covid 19 cancelations

Did you have to press the Confirm button before being given the voucher option?

    Qantas Covid 19 cancelations

I'm trying to cancel some domestic flights and use the voucher option - but the promised voucher button doesn't appear. Anyone know alt's happening?

What former countries/enclaves have you visited?

There's lots of former colonies. Two which come to mind are: * New Hebrides * Portugese Timor. New Hebrides, now Vanuatu, was a hoot because it was a condominium. That meant at the airport you had to choose British Customs or French Douane, then currency: French Pacific Francs or Oz dollars...

Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

Yes, the 400 bus is useful, but you have to know where to get off at Mascot (or watch carefully); you could also finish the route and get an eastern suburbs train at Bondi Junction. One day in the improbable future you could get off the 400 at Randwick and take the Light Rail into town.

Redeem gift voucher: prices 25% higher?

It's not just gift vouchers or recent. A couple of years ago I had to get a refund for a refundablee ticket which came in the form of a voucher instead of cash. I didn't complain because I was sure to use it some time. When I tried for a super cheap deal to Noumea, it turned out that the bargain...

How to make enemies...! [by weighing carry-on]

Having been hit on the head by an overweight bag falling from a QF overhead locker, I'm completely behind Qantas. I'm always amazed at the outrageous stuff passengers try to shove in and monopolise the limited overhead storage. Glad you'll be on BA, although as another post reveals, they at...

First/business classic award release for Bronze FF

Not quite the same subject, but be very wary of QF's rewards points specials. Having just received an invitation to take up a reduced points offer in the near future, I made a dummy booking for one of their examples: Sydney - Christchurch. The "special" was 128 000 points plus $1076 fees. I then...

    JQ - My Positive Experience

I don't bother with Jetstar domestically as, having usually flexible times, I find QF fares are competitive, occasionally better. But I've used Jetstar Business Class a few times for international and find them excellent - naturally you don't expect QF J class, but they're better than QF's PE...

New QF Frequent Flyer with some questions

I have a slight advantage as a Gold member but I've usually got a requested upgrade but by being both a solo traveller and buying PE in the first instance. Without PE as a beginning it's hardly worth asking and the other two factors count also. Using points for a whole fare for the whole trip...

    HNL-MEL Award booking help

I did this in June, although I paid. I thought the product was reasonably good, though better in the day (HNL-MEL) than overnight (MEL-HNL). Still, the seats are a lot better than cattle, there are dedicated toilets, and, contrary to warnings, the food, drinks and service were excellent...

Accor Le Club Loyalty Program is changing in 2017

Same for me, may use my Rydge's card more or perhaps go back to Hilton. On the other hand, the Platinum status doesn't actually do much - the only tangible benefits is both early and late check-in/out.

Air NZ looking to sell some/all of stake in VA

You're right and FIRB approval is no problem since it's majority overseas owned already. My understanding (can anyone confirm?) is that under CER or other Aus/NZ deals AirNZ could fly domestically in Oz anyway - I've often wondered why they don't. I'm committed to QF as a life member of QC, but...

Air NZ looking to sell some/all of stake in VA

While a 'bank run' seems likely given these comments, transferring to Krisflyer is probably just getting a little ahead of the game, since a Singapore takeover is the most likely end point - AirNZ could be manoeuvring to do the same, but most analysts think it really does need the capital at...

AFF Decides: Best airlines by cabin class

My favourites out of Oz are Cathay business and Qantas PE - I don't use many other airlines but there seems to be a consensus that QF is the best PE on offer - usually the most expensive, of course.
