    AA's web site has never let me modify an award itinerary on hold. But you can keep calling and adding flights as they become available. Currently, AA is waiving change fees on ticketed awards as well.

    This thread has been overtaken by events. Early in 2020, it was announced that AS will be joining OneWorld and that AA and AS would increase their partnership in stages prior to AS's membership in OW. This includes cross-earning FF points, reciprical elite recognition, lounge access, etc.
