BA reward ticket on QF flt canx, rebooked NZ: compensation?

In this case it was to NZ which I suspect QF would not like either. I was impressed with the food/service/etc on NZ so will go with them for my next few tasman trips -- not helping generate repeat business for QF (but very helpful for NZ). And QF must have paid a good sum of money as I got full...

BA reward ticket on QF flt canx, rebooked NZ: compensation?

Indeed, a closer read of the regulations suggests you're right -- it's to do with the operator of the flight and not the ticketing carrier. 1709079138 Is this not as common these days?

BA reward ticket on QF flt canx, rebooked NZ: compensation?

My situation: BA reward ticket for QF 153 MEL-AKL today at 1.55pm. Apparently that flight was oversold so they've rebooked me onto NZ 128 MEL-AKL at 5pm. Delay of 3h05mins. Do I get any compenstation for that? Not sure whether it being a BA ticket means I can make a claim under EU regulations or...

    Final 737 Flight (6/9/2015)

Wow that's a pretty good send-off. Perhaps NZ might try and do something like that for the last NZ 767... One can only hope! Thanks for the link. :)

Does anyone on AFF use NZ/Airpoints as their primary program?

Back when QF Jetconnect was operating domestic flights in New Zealand I booked almost all my personal flights on QF and tried as much as possible to have my work flights booked on QF as well. At the time, I preferred QF because of the FF as well as the QF Jetconnect domestic service. Jetconnect...

    Final 737 Flight (6/9/2015)

There were some people who went for the occasion of the final 737. But there were many bemused-looking people who were surprised to find out they were flying on the last 737 but they seemed to enjoy the ocassion with the muffin and the drinks! Out of interest, what did QF do for the final 767...

    Final 737 Flight (6/9/2015)

It was a uneventful flight apart from the following special things: - Water salute at AKL prior to departure (didn't see one on arrival at CHC) - They made muffins with "Farewell 737" on them and handed them out - They gave out extra drinks to all pax to celebrate (which seemed to be in addition...

    Final 737 Flight (6/9/2015)

I am flying on NZ 557 tonight. Is there anyone else here also doing this flight? :)

    Free Express Card Distribution

I have a old Express Card from a few years back. Would they still work fine or have the cards changed in recent times?

Maybe she should have read the conditions?

Just did a dummy AKL-CHC-AKL booking on QF NZ website with 1x Adult and 1x Child and it came up with the following fare calculation:- Total Price = $302.86 * (NZD) 1 adult x 162.00 = $162.00 1 child x 140.86 = $140.86 So looks like they do exist! - James

Is Hawaiian a partner airline of Qantas?

The QF website is odd in this respect. It seems to use the phrase "Partner Airline" for any airline that is not either a QF subsidary or a OneWorld member. In fact the My Bookings page considers Air NZ to be a partner airline as well! So I wouldn't worry about it -- just a small computer bug...

    Classic Awards

No changes to me here. Perhaps it's happening to certain flights (e.g. Aussie Domestics) only? All my flights has been NZ domestic and international -- i.e. no AU domestic. - James

QF Booking details page given facelift

Just checked and looks like there has indeed been some minor changes. Apparently QF now considers a NZ flight to be a "Qantas partner flight" with a blue triangle next to the flight number! Surely they should only use that for OneWorld flights or does OneWorld partners have their own symbol...

    The thermal BPs

It is excatly the same at AKL and WLG for DJ. It's only QF in AKL and WLG that seem to have issues with A4 OLCI papers! Both times I used OLCI the agent had to hold me at the queue while they ripped my OLCI papers -- the two people I was travelling with were already near the end of the...

    The thermal BPs

Interesting. I'm flying on QF to WLG this Thursday so will be interesting to see if it is still the case at AKL. Perhaps the AKL kiosks were still using the older software when when I tried it a few weeks ago? How long ago was it fixed in AU? - James

    The thermal BPs

Does QF scan the codes in Australia? At AKL and WLG they don't bother to scan the barcode on the OLCI check-in -- they just rip the bottom part off and key in the data later! It does seem like a slow process though and printing an entire A4 paper does seem like a waste too. Unfourtently I can't...

‘any Seat, Any Time’ Wins Global Gong For Virgin Blue

Fair enough, but they only partner (on international routes) with EK/HA/MH which doesn't really give you much choices! No point having any seat awards if these airlines don't go where you want to go -- or you have to travel via DBX/KUL/HNL when other alliances have more direct routes. Oh well...

‘any Seat, Any Time’ Wins Global Gong For Virgin Blue

Well, it seems funny for DJ to say that given they're not the only airline to do so. NZ is another airline that allows 'any seat' redemptions! - James [Edit: Forgot to type only so apologies for any misunderstanding!]

    SLOW posting of points

Yes, it's been rather slow lately -- and often they don't post in the same order too! Flew 16 April -- Posted 22 April -- 6 days to post Flew 19 April -- Posted 21 April -- 2 days to post The second one was actually a QF flight cancelled and transferred onto Pacific Blue -- so I'm suprised it...
