    Anyone experienced MH A380 yet?

I look forward to the reports too - I'm on the A380 to the UK in Jan 2014

    Complaints against an airline ?

The ACA is only applicable to Australian based airlines anyway, so would not help against Qatar.

Last minute holiday confusion: Orpheus Island/Qualia/Longitude 131/suggestions

I went to Orpheus before it's refurbishment (ie before cyclone Yasi) and the food was absolutely incredible. As it's only small though, I think you'd run out of things to do if you're not keen on water.

Mini Trip Report - BA B747 SYD to SING upper deck in J

My wife is trying out the BA 740-400 J class to LHR next month (with 1 QF operated sector I believe). Her only other J experience thus far has been QF A380 and VA 777 so I'll be very interested to hear here comparison.

The Best and worst Places you've been to?

Best: San Francisco Worst: Gloucester, UK. So close to beautiful places (Cheltenham, Cotswolds) but an unutterable dump. I had the pleasure of living there for 6 months.

How many bags is your life?

In 1994 I could (and did) fit my life into a Nissan Sunny. In 2002, when I moved from the UK to Australia, it had grown to 40 boxes. We had a clearout at home a few weeks ago, and gave most of our stuff to lifeline etc, and now I reckon we could fit into 10 boxes...

San Fran and then to Vancouver...Canada?

I have a similar trip coming up in a couple weeks. We're going to have 5 days in SF (we're first time visitors there), then fly to Toronto to visit a friend. Now just trying to work out the besy way of getting back to LAX from Toronto. (best = cheapest in this instance). By the look of we we may...

    My first non-commercial flight

Mine was a UK Naval Wessex (or Sea King - can never remember) in 1984 when I was in the Naval Cadets at school. A nice trip over Portland Bill with the side door wide open for an interesting - if rather scary - view.

No kids - Fiji or other Pacfic Island resorts

Thanks all. I'm not a huge Hamilton Is fan (overall) so would prefer to go elsewhere I think. I was toying with the refurbed Orpheus (having been there a couple of years ago) but I note that they now allow kids. It is therefore off the list.

No kids - Fiji or other Pacfic Island resorts

Thanks Austman, that is indeed one of the ones we had on the list. I'm assuming you've experienced it yourself?

No kids - Fiji or other Pacfic Island resorts

Hi I'm looking to get away for 2 weeks (ish) in July, and am keen to have a lazy time somewhere like Fiji. Cost is not the main issue (happy to pay for quality) - the key factors for me and my wife are: 1. no kids 2. peace and quiet And that's it. Any recommendations? There seems to be a...

What does Christmas in Australia as an immigrant mean to you

I'm not particularly family oriented, so I enjoy Christmas here as I get to spend it with pals rather than feeling obliged to visit the folks. Somerset

G'day. Anyone got an opinion on Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy Sydney-London?

I found the staff be great, but the catering was poor - small amounts and quality not great. Seats were ok for legroom, but for me personally I found them hard to sleep in due to the fixed armrests

    Dear John

Hi Airline Guy Actually that description of the current training is completely inaccurate. The content is very much in line with company direction, and does not contain what is described (eg 'must bring back flair' etc). I wonder if your friend maybe has been on the end of a 'Chinese Whisper'...

To UK in PE - is it worth it?

Very interested in this thread as my wife & I need to go back to the UK in November for a few weeks. I've only ever flown economy (SQ by choice), but she did QF Business on her own last year. Her view is that she'll now never fly anything other than business, but mine (and my bank manager's)...

    Red-eye flights

I used to work for a company where I had to look after both QLD and WA, from my base in QLD. So every 3 weeks I spent a few days in Perth. Company policy, come the end of that week, was do a full day of work in Perth, get the red eye back to Brisbane with zero sleep due to noise, and then go...
