Article: Qantas Schedules Daytime Los Angeles-Brisbane Flights

My daytime flight LAX>BNE (and return) has been cancelled for trips in both November 2022 and June 2023. Sadly, they seem to be returning to night flights on this route.

    Complimentary Gold - Virgin

She’s unlikely to requalify for Gold on her own, but will have the eligible sectors. The 100 status credits difference is what’s interesting. The family pooling option seems a better way to get her there rather than me going for another 500 credits to gift her Gold (as she will achieve Gold...

    Complimentary Gold - Virgin

Been wondering this myself. Having recently achieved Platinum, should I continue for another 500 credits to gift my partner gold (they are currently gold), or just allocate them as beneficiary to our family pooling where they will re-qualify after only 400 credits?

First/business classic award release for Bronze FF

I've also noticed the award seats become available when your only looking a week or two ahead. Maybe there's a magic number at the other end?

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Been paying my tax with AMEX Plat for a while now but only just did some calculations.... UK return in J = 256,000 QF points. 256,000 points requires a $512,000 spent using my AMEX at the ATO. A $512,000 spend @ 1.45% surcharge = $7,424 Purchasing a return QF flight in J = $7,681 With many UK...

Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

Just redeemed my last 75,000 points. A FASA from LHR-DXB early next year on QF2, not enough points to get all the way home, so looks I'll be saving up for a classic award DXB-BNE. 90% to lifetime gold now, so that was the main incentive! I'll miss my mASAs :(

Looking at this from another angle, most air crash disasters involve male pilots

A tale of Qantas award booking 'consultants'

Trying to book a MASA to Europe for Feb. Qantas website shows classic seat availability with all flights on EK ex BNE. When I phoned the call center they mentioned that MASAs need to be on a QF operated flight (QF metal). Was not ware of this, anyone else had similar experiences??

First Class xASA Sydney to Dubai 144,000 points plus $1,958.42

Seems when you use the slider all the way to the left it's more than just taxes you're paying with this particular JASA. Same fare booked as a classic was $395.92 in taxes.

    Qantas Skybed in PE? BNE-LAX

Hi all, I've read somewhere that WPs often get allocated a skybed seat on this segment. Does anyone have experience with this? I am WP and looking to book a PE return but was unsure whether the seat can be chosen at time of booking or is something that happens at check in. Appreciate any help...

No compassion from BA after Brisbane floods

I just received a call from BA (Sydney) stating they will now refund their $300 cancellation fee for both myself AND my wife's ticket. Under the current (as of a few minutes ago) policy, they are refunding tickets up to 23 Jan, my wife was departing BNE a few days after me and was ticketed on...

No compassion from BA after Brisbane floods

Hi guys Just an update here, BA are still refusing to match the Qantas ticket refund offer to people affected by the flood. QF's website states: The following options are available to Qantas customers holding a valid 081 ticket for travel to/from Brisbane who wish to make changes to their...

No compassion from BA after Brisbane floods

Just spoke to the TA at Best Flights and emailed her the speedbird link. She seemed a little surprised that she was not aware of the new notification from BA and said she will call them tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I'll let you know how I go... Thanks for everyone's support and help.

No compassion from BA after Brisbane floods

I've asked my TA for a copy of the fare conditions. It was a deal BA had out late last year that was PE on the outward journey and J class on the return. Fare was $5,000 and included a side trip to Europe. It was good value... but not now. :(

No compassion from BA after Brisbane floods

Hi all, I was booked to go to London from BNE (via SYD) on Friday 21st Jan on BA. BNE-SYD was codeshare QF. With the Brisbane floods I now will not be able to make the trip and although my house is OK, my family is actively involved in helping others who were not so lucky. QF have a notice on...
