I would be interested to find out how many people rang up jetstar and ask for their premium economy seat for the same price as the economy seat.... ...It seemed rather obvious to me what they ment in their advertising but i would still be interested in the number of queries they got.

Good point, If your travelling in the day time, the 8 hours or so to bkk is bearable in Y, however, y+ is also a good option. Most of the time BA does syd bkk for about 13-1500 return, so add a j class from bkk to France and your still ahead a fair bit.

Okay perhaps it was just my reaction after being bumped from from j to f on the syd hk leg.

Thai airways for sure, from what i have read the only planes not upgraded to new 170degree j seats are the ones from bkk to lax.

flew with ka earlier this year from hk to shanghai, excellent airline from all accounts. In economy they stack in a few more rows of seats so there isn't much leg room but the meals are really good even on a short 1.5 hour flight. Should make for some fantastic ff award opportunities in china.
