I got no such wines but didn’t push tbh as the lounge got crazy busy when QF2 landed and I transitioned to whiskey I got well looked after with a few tasty drops from the top cabin onboard which was a 380 so quite a nice drop

To me this raises the question whether we need boarding announcements at all for domestic. I always leave well before any announcements. What would be valuable would be if at T-30 there is no prospect of the flight boarding on time they make an exception announcement.

Doing some star alliance lounge hopping this evening in BKK Just moved for Silverkris to EVA air where I am all alone. The food in SKL was great but I’m enjoying a guilty pleasure of pizza which look exactly like Pizza Hut and a great fresh salad with a rare runway view from a lounge I too...

I'm not sure why too surprised? Have you seen the yield of premium v non-premium? If you're a regular BA flyer you'll see most Y doesn't start till well after the wing as each J seat yields multiples of some Y seat.

I'm not saying there will not be any upgrades moving forward but QF were actively providing them before with the loyalty note on the BP form what I understand. The VIP ones will continue as per usual. I'm usually booking around 2-6 weeks out for most of my travel.

I'm usually in the highest fare class but on the one occasion i wasn't I did get one SYD-BNE. I heard they included even international so potentially J to F or Y to J. The VIP team ones will continue but will be on an ad hoc basis.

Just an FYI, I've heard that QF has been handing out upgrades very proactively in May but that policy had a hard stop on 1 June. This was for WP and P1 so don't expect these as frequently moving forward.
