    Buying Air Canada Aeroplan points

Nothing for me. There seems to be good availability for long haul flights, but only on Air India, and I have no interest in travelling on Air India in any class.

    PONANT - Glasgow to Reykjavik

Is anyone here who has been on Ponant before happy to do a referral for me to get a mutual $800 off our next Ponant cruises? If so, it will be greatly appreciated. I rarely beg, but in this instance it seems indicated. :|

Qantas Lounge Guest Departs after Sponsor

What a rort! It means mere plebs and peasants can in theory dine out on first class lounge food and liquor for the whole day! Qantas MUST change this policy, I am going to write to them now to recommend that this loophole be closed SCHNELL!!!**

    PONANT - Glasgow to Reykjavik

I'm going to have to go on this cruise in May this year I think because logistically I'm not going to be able to do this itinerary while I'm in Europe next year. Plus I'm not getting any younger. With my family trip being scheduled for September 2027, I can get there early enough to see the...

Qantas Lounge Guest Departs after Sponsor

A question about lounge guests. Say I am eligible for one guest at the Qantas Melbourne Flounge. I am on a 10am flight, but my guest's flight isn't until after lunchtime. Is my guest allowed to use the flounge until her flight, or does she have to leave when I leave? Many thanks for clarification.

    PONANT - Glasgow to Reykjavik

I think it's highly unlikely that I will not enjoy the above itinerary. I'll head to a cruise specialist travel agent in Melbourne over the next few days to see what kind of a deal they can offer me. In 2027 my elderly folks and I are going on a Viking cruise of the Rhine River. Possibly on one...

    PONANT - Glasgow to Reykjavik

I went to the Geelong Travel travel expo yesterday in Geelong and seemed to find the perfect itinerary, from Glasgow to Reykjavik starting 10 May. It seems to go to all the places I planned to go, taking away the hassle of driving and booking accommodation, and including excursions that I...

Tax deduction for worldwide hobo accommodation?

Thank you for your feedback, I was pretty sure that it was a fairly clear negative and mostly wishful thinking.

Tax deduction for worldwide hobo accommodation?

I am working purely in a telehealth role and as such I can work anywhere in the world (although indemnity issues prevent me from working in the USA). I am heading to Asia at the end of March, and I will be moving around for several months, but still intending to work close to full time hours...

What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

My prediction is that the Australian dollar will plummet the week before I am due to go abroad. It will then rise on the day that I am in transit on the way home.

    Antarctica Cruises

But I want to do things now before my joints explode :p Me too. But I also don't want to be have half a million dollars less when I retire. Of course, knowing my luck, the big C (carcinoma) will probably get me before that.

Doing a redemption from Asia to Europe via Doha and vice versa

I'm trying to do a redemption from Asia to Europe on QR through Velocity awards. Problem is that it is impossible to do them together. There is plenty of redemption from Asian cities to Doha, and plenty from Doha to Europe, but you cannot combine them. The only way is separate segments, with...

Repositioning cruises from Japan to Alaska/Canada

How is southcentral Alaska in the middle of May? Would the scenery still be brown? Or have variations in temperature of late made things turn green early? Fairly cheap prices and lack of mosquitoes aside, I am likely still too stingy to waste $7500 on Silversea when it could be invested and...

Repositioning cruises from Japan to Alaska/Canada

Hi AFFers, I am considering going on a repositioning cruise from Japan through to Alaska/Canada in early to mid May, they have some pretty good deals. Silversea have a 15 day trip ending in Anchorage/Whittier for $7500 solo all in. Royal Carribbean and Holland America obviously have similar...

    Cash fare manipulation - Europe?

At the last MasterClass I was made aware that it was possible to manipulate your way through to a sub-5k cash fare in J to North America with a fistful of status credits if you originate your fare in Fiji. Does anyone know whether this is possible for Europe? Who is the name of the travel...

    Antarctica Cruises

k_sheep: you invest it so that you have more later. I'm about as frugal as I can be. I wear cheap clothes, don't drink and my main hobby (poker) isn't just not expensive, it generates enough revenue for me to go on a two-star budget cruise each year! The allowable exception is if you're...

Big Devaluation for Qantas Rewards on Emirates First Class from February 18.

As it stands I have a F redemption from HND-DXB-AMS on 31st May. I want to change it to a bit earlier in the month, but there are no seats available from anywhere in Asia to Europe for months on end. I should count my blessings I got a redemption at all. I have never flown on any class higher...

    Antarctica Cruises

Well I want to do both the Peninsula and Mawson Hut's and hopefully the French Subantarctic Islands also, although it will cost an arm and a leg. Eventually, I will have the funds to do so in my retirement, in my sixties or seventies. :|
